What separates iCare Transportation from ridesharing companies like UBER or Lyft? First, the focus of iCare Transportation Services is to help those that require transportation to and from medical appointments/procedures. We are fully insured for Non-Emergency Medical Transportation, and offer door to door service. We will also escort our customers into appointments (if requested) and are willing to wait until their appointment's completion (if requested). Our drivers are held to a different standard than what ridesharing drivers are held to, please refer to the list below.

-Uniformed drivers.

-Annual (certified) driving record checks from DMV.

-Current First Aid/CPR/AED certifications. 

-Mandatory drug screenings (pre-employment and random).

-National and State criminal background checks.

-Sex offender registry checks.

-Fully Insured for Non-Emergency Medical Transportation.

-Certified by the SC Public Service Commission and Office of Regulatory Staff to provide service.

-All vehicles are outfitted for Non-Emergency Medical Transportation based on the needs of the customer (First Aid Kits, Spill Kits, walker, wheelchair, etc.).

How far in advance do I need to reserve a transport? Reservations 72 hours or more in advance are preferred; however, we will try to accommodate most requests within a matter of hours (if available).

Can someone ride along during the transfer? Yes, we encourage care-givers to ride along if it's convenient for them.

Do you offer long distance transfers? Yes, we do offer transfers within the southeast region but this is on a case by case basis. Please call for more information. (843) 227-4621.
